Few announcements I wanted to make:

Bug Fixes:

- Pic Lens should now be working again for all galleries.

- Searching by last xxx days should now only show the actually days rather than run to infinity.

- Pic searches should show second, third, etc etc pages properly.

- Anything else to do with date calculations within the gallery should be resolved.

Outages:

- We're made a few changes that should reduce or eliminate the outages and also

are working on an automated system that should allow the system to heal itself of

most of the more common issues that come up.  This should up running in the next few days.

Other:

- I'm reviewing the delegated authorities that we've given some user's within the user-

moderated galleries.  While these authorities have generally not been misued

there are several cases of abuse.

- Also since there is (again) some obsession over the ratings, a re-discussion is in order (again):

- Everyone gets 1 - ONE - Uno vote per month per photo.  No matter how many times you

click 1 or 10 only one will register per month. The average of the valid votes is calculated

and displayed.

- To demonstrate this, I've enabled the display of all the voting in the comments section

under the photos (this shows votes that have blank comments).  The down side to

this is that you may have pages to scroll through to read the next textual comment.

I had disabled this because a:) it wastes bandwidth, database and cpu time displaying

and rendering blank boxes with no comments and b:) 99% of you just want to read the

comments and see a composite vote.

Reposts:

As a reminder to report a potential reposting, click "REPORT PHOTO" underneath the photo.  Posting

a clever note in the comments section guarantees two things that defeat the purpose of reporting

it: I'll never see it nor will it ever get added to the growing repost database.

Also, starting soon I'll have a page up where system reports of automated removals can be accessed by

all as apparently the even-handedness of the automated system is in question.  Ugh.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH

I heartily endorse and am very thankful for these changes.  Good work.  And I'll stop with the snarky repost comments, since they never seemed to change the behavior of the person they were addressed to anyway.  Smitty
