A few users that were having problems logging in (and / or staying logged in) or trying to renew their memberships were using IE 8 (which is still in beta).  There are many internet threads about problems still with the beta so I'd encourage you to hold-off on using IE8beta or using Firefox as your main browser while testing out the features of IE 8.  Once IE 8 comes out of beta, we'll see what/if any workarounds we need to implement to support and peculiarities of IEv8.
