Is there and particular reason why folk's icon no longer appear beside comments when comments are made by them?  I made is so much more fun to at a glance see who'd made comment and whether it was worth reading and such.

Yes, the profile system is different so the linkage is different... It's on my internal list of to-do's so they'll re-appear soon... :)

This is now working again and avatars will also appear in several other contexts within the gallery as well.
