i have rated many pics in the the site gallery, but received no points.

Rating pix are not supposed to get points.  Meaningful comments (i.e. not "nice!") on pix do earn points.

In that case, what is the difference in "rating" and "Voting on" pics in the gallery?   The later is listed as a source of points.  rob
